Beyond Kitchens: The Rest of the House Deserves Custom Cabinetry Too!
Kitchens are what we're known for at Natural Edge - and we love that. But cabinetry doesn't stop at the kitchen bench. Over the years, we've designed and built custom joinery for almost every room in the house, from the practical to the downright clever.
If you've only ever thought of us as "the kitchen people," here's a look at everything else we do - and why every one of these spaces deserves the same care as the kitchen itself.
Laundries
It's not the room that makes it onto a mood board, but it's one of the hardest-working spaces in the house.
A well-designed laundry gives you proper bench space for folding, a home for the bins instead of the floor, and storage for everything that usually ends up piled on top of the machine. We build in Blum soft-close hardware and Laminex benchtops tough enough to handle the daily load.
Not glamorous. Just genuinely useful.
Sculleries
A great kitchen often has a great scullery working quietly behind it.
Prep, small appliances, everything you'd rather not have on show - tucked away, while the kitchen stays the space you actually want people to see. We match doors and finishes through from the main kitchen, so it feels connected rather than bolted on.
It's the room that does the heavy lifting.
Home Offices
Working from the kitchen table only holds up for so long.
A properly designed office earns its keep - real desk depth, cable management sorted, and storage for the paperwork that used to live in a box under the desk. Laminex surfaces and Blum drawer runners are built to outlast the laptop, and it looks sharp enough for video calls too.
Wardrobes
No two wardrobes should look the same, because no two spaces - or the things that go in them - are the same.
We build floor to ceiling into your actual space, with every shelf, rail, and drawer positioned around how you use it - his and hers zones, room for shoes, space for accessories, whatever fits your life. Drawers are spaced to allow natural airflow, so your clothing stays fresher for longer, and everything closes on soft-close Blum hardware.
Everything finally has its place.
Feature Units
Most cabinetry is designed to blend into the background. This is the exception.
Sometimes the brief is simple: make this the piece people notice the moment they walk in. That means the finish has to hold up on close inspection, not just from across the room - cabinetry as a genuine design statement, built to be seen.
Entranceway Units
The first few seconds of walking into a home set the tone for everything after.
Too often, that job falls to a shoe pile and a coat hook. A proper entranceway unit changes that - shoes stored, coats hung, somewhere for keys and mail that isn't the kitchen bench. Small space, outsized impact on how the whole home feels.
Murphy (Pull-Down) Beds
One of the smartest solutions in small-space design.
By day, it's a home office or a gym. By night, a full guest bed folds down and the room transforms completely. No more apologising for not having a spare room - you just needed the right cabinetry. Engineered to fold smoothly and stay solid, every time.
Bench Seats
Every home has that one spot everyone gravitates to.
Custom-fitted seating with storage built in underneath and upholstered comfort on top, made to fit the exact nook it sits in - not squeezed in as an afterthought, but a considered part of the design from the start.
Bar Units
Every home could use a spot for a proper entertaining area.
Built-in bar cabinetry with room for glassware, bottles, and a bar fridge tucked in seamlessly - designed to match the rest of your home, not look like an add-on. Great for entertaining, even better when it's not cluttering up the kitchen bench.
The Kitchen's Just the Start
From the laundry to a guest room that's secretly a Murphy bed, we design and build custom cabinetry for the whole home - made to fit your space, your family, and how you actually live in it.
