When you commission a kitchen, wardrobe, or bathroom from Natural Edge, you're not just getting our craftsmanship - you're getting the best materials and hardware we've found after years of building in Hawke's Bay.

We're deliberate about who we work with. Every supplier on this list was chosen for a reason: quality, consistency, and the kind of product that's still performing beautifully five, ten, twenty years from now. Here's a breakdown of exactly who we use and what they bring to your project.

Blum - Hardware That Works Flawlessly, Forever

If you've opened a drawer in one of our kitchens and noticed how smoothly it glides shut, that's Blum. Austrian-engineered and backed by a lifetime warranty, Blum hardware is the gold standard in cabinetry mechanisms - and it's the only brand we use.

What we use Blum for:

  • Soft-close drawer systems - the Tandembox and Merivobox ranges give every drawer a smooth, controlled close with soft-close mechanisms and hinges.

  • Pocket door systems - for appliance cupboards and pantry doors that fold neatly away, keeping the space tidy. A simple push to the door and panel will slide out of the cavity and fold away the open space. Open when you need it, closed when you don’t.

  • Space Tower pantry systems - pull-out pantry columns that make deep storage genuinely usable, everything visible and reachable at your fingertips.

  • Lift systems and flap hardware - great for overhead cabinets, harder to reach but still wanting easy access, fold-up panels, and integrated mechanisms.

Blum's lifetime warranty isn't a marketing line - it's a statement of confidence in their own engineering. When a brand is willing to back their product for life, that tells you everything you need to know. It's one of the main reasons they're the only hardware brand we spec.

Laminex - The Board and Surface Material We Trust

Almost every cabinet carcass, shelf, and panel we build starts with Laminex board. It's New Zealand's most trusted interior surface brand, and our go-to for good reason: consistent quality, a huge range of colours and textures, and reliable supply through our local Hawke's Bay account.

What we use Laminex for:

  • Cabinet carcasses - the structural boxes that form every kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and wardrobe unit

  • Shelving and interior panels - in colours and finishes that match the overall design

  • Front panels and feature elements - Laminex's decorative range lets us create cohesive, finished interiors

We also work with HI-MACS acrylic solid surface for benchtops - and unlike most cabinet makers, we manufacture these in our own workshop. That means we can create completely seamless joins with no visible seams, and we control the quality start to finish.

HI-MACS is hygienic, non-porous, and easy to keep clean - a practical choice for kitchens and bathrooms where benchtops take a lot of daily use. It comes in a large colour range so it integrates naturally with whatever aesthetic you're going for.

One practical advantage worth mentioning: because we fabricate HI-MACS ourselves, there's no wait time for an external templater to come out after the cabinets are in. We can install the benchtops at the same time as the cabinetry, keeping your project on schedule.

Sage Doors - Pre-Finished Fronts That Look the Part

Cabinet door fronts are the face of any kitchen or wardrobe. We source ours through Sage Doors, a specialist NZ supplier known for their laser-edged finish and consistent quality across shaker and contemporary styles.

What we use Sage Doors for:

  • Pre-finished door fronts - ready to install straight from delivery, no on-site painting required

  • Shaker style panels - the classic inset frame look that suits everything from modern to heritage homes

  • Drawer fronts and feature panels - in a wide range of colours, profiles, and sizes

Laser-edged banding (as opposed to traditional iron-on edging) gives a tighter, more durable edge that doesn't lift over time. It's a detail most people won't notice — until they see a door that doesn't have it.

FIT - Domus Line LED Strip Lighting That Finishes the Job

Good lighting transforms a cabinet from functional to stunning. We use FIT - Domus Line LED strip lighting systems to add under-bench lighting, interior cabinet lighting, and feature illumination throughout our builds.

What we use LED strip lighting for:

  • Under-bench LED strips - for task lighting along kitchen benchtops

  • Interior cabinet lighting - wardrobes, pantries, and display cabinetry lit from within

  • Toe-kick lighting - subtle floor-level lighting that gives kitchens a premium hotel feel

LED strip lighting can genuinely transform a space. It creates more even illumination than a single overhead fitting, eliminates shadows where you're working, and adds a warmth and ambience that's hard to achieve any other way. It's increasingly something clients ask for from the start - not as an afterthought - and when it's designed in early, it integrates cleanly with no visible cords or clunky fittings.

Archant - Handles and Sinks

The hardware you touch every day matters more than people realise. Archant supplies us with handles, sinks, and fittings across our residential and commercial projects - a great local supplier with a wide range at fair pricing.

What we use Archant for:

  • Door and drawer handles - an extensive range of profiles, finishes, and lengths to suit any style of kitchen or wardrobe, from minimal and contemporary to more traditional looks

  • Sinks - undermount and top-mount options for kitchens and laundries

Handles are often the last thing people pick, but they're what your hand reaches for dozens of times a day. Getting the weight, length, and finish right makes a real difference to how a kitchen feels in daily use - and having a wide range to choose from means we're not trying to make one or two options fit every brief.

TopNotch - Painting and Spray Finishing

For projects requiring painted finishes on site - feature walls, timber elements, or touch-up work - we work with TopNotch. They handle the painting side of things so our tradespeople can stay focused on what they do best: building and installing cabinetry.

Having a trusted painting contractor we can bring in on jobs keeps the project moving without us trying to be everything. Good tradespeople know who to call.

Why Our Supplier Choices Matter to You

Every supplier we use is chosen deliberately. We're not buying whatever's cheapest or most available - we're sourcing materials and products that we'd be comfortable putting our name on for the next twenty years.

For you as a client, that means:

  • Mechanisms that last - Blum's lifetime warranty backs up every drawer and door

  • Surfaces that stay beautiful - Laminex board and HI-MACS are built for real-life use

  • Fronts that won't let you down - Sage Doors' laser-edged finish holds up over time

  • Details done right - from the LED strips behind your benchtop to the handle you reach for every morning
