CUNNINGHAM
KITCHEN, SCULLERY,
LAUNDRY
& KIDS NOOK
The Cunningham project is a complete kitchen renovation in Hawke’s Bay, transforming an oversized, underperforming layout into three highly functional spaces - a kitchen, walk-in scullery, and walk-through laundry. The original space lacked flow and practical use, so the focus of this renovation was to improve layout, increase storage, and create a more efficient environment for everyday family living.
The main kitchen now centres around clean, handleless modern kitchen cabinetry, finished in a crisp white palette, in the colour Haze, with overhead storage to maximise space. A timber veneer beading detail beneath the benchtop introduces warmth and contrast, while a corner acrylic benchtop with panel detailing on the breakfast bar adds durability and interest. The adjoining scullery supports the kitchen renovation by providing additional bench space, full-height storage, multiple drawers and a custom timber wine glass holder - keeping the main kitchen clear and functional.
The renovation continues through to the walk-through laundry, where a mix of timber and white cabinetry creates consistency across all spaces. Designed to handle high use, it includes pull-out shelving under the washer and dryer, dedicated basket storage, overhead cabinetry, a tall cupboard, and a sink area with additional bench space. Despite fitting a lot into one zone, the layout feels seamless and easy to navigate, showing how a well-executed kitchen renovation can extend beyond the kitchen itself to improve the overall flow of the home.
A built-in kids’ nook with upper cabinetry for craft supplies has also been included, creating a simple, organised space for the children within the kitchen.

“James was an absolute legend to deal with throughout the whole process. From the moment we met him, he exuded positivity about the project and our vision; and we felt he really understood what we wanted and the vibe we were going for, which is what clinched the deal for us.
We'd seen some of the company's fine work and loved it.
James is a details man and made several recommendations which we took on board and our kitchen and laundry are all the better for it.
James and Jacob (the fantastic installer) moved heaven and earth to get the majority of the kitchen sorted just before Christmas last year and came to finish off the finer details earlier in 2026.
Would 100,000 percent recommend them.”- Blair & Anna, Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay
